Standard- Study for the “All Summer in a Day” (p. 264) quiz on Wednesday this week. Also, complete the grammar work book page on Thursday night to turn in on Friday.
Advanced- Finish reading your fiction novel, and prepare a book talk to present to the class on Monday, September 26. The book talk should be a two-three minute presentation on the novel. (see more information on the book talk under handouts)

The homework this week is to complete the vocabulary log for the following words, and it is due on Friday. (concussion, slackening, vital, surged, tumultuously, resilient–page 263, setting, conflict, compare, and contrast)
Advanced-
1. Research the planet Venus, and write down five facts.

Homework:
Standard is to begin studying figurative language terms (simile, metaphor, onomatopoeia, alliteration, hyperbole, and personification). Also complete grammar workbook page 235-236 on capitalization (due Friday).
Advanced is to begin reading a fiction book. They will also begin creating a “book talk” about the novel. See the attachment under the handouts at the top of the blog.

Homework:
Standard-
Wednesday– Complete grammar workbook pages 47-50 on the different types of sentences. This will be due by Friday.
Advanced-
Tuesday– Write a descriptive paragraph about a favorite place you love to spend time. Remember to include your five senses in your paragraph. This rough draft will be due on Wednesday.
Thursday– Finish revising your descriptive paragraph (This will be started in class). Turn in a final draft on Friday. The final draft may be written neatly in ink or typed.

Welcome back students and parents! This website is used for educational purposes only. You will find all homework assignments and project information for our 7th Grade Language Arts Standard and Advanced classes throughout the school year on this site. It will be updated every Monday. All assignments are also posted in the classroom, and students copy them in their planner on Monday at the beginning of class. If you are absent, check this sight for homework assigned; it is your responsibility to complete it.
